Who We Are:
We’re a collective of writers, recovering consultants, and corporate comedians who’ve spent years navigating the highs, lows, and coffee-fueled chaos of modern work. We’ve sat through more status updates than we care to admit, and we know exactly how much better it all goes when you don’t take yourself too seriously.
We are led by Jensen Larsen, the (mostly) reformed corporate warrior who created A Brick at a Time.
After spending over a decade navigating the maze of spreadsheets, endless status meetings, and soul-sucking jargon, Jen finally had enough. He realized that somewhere between the quarterly reports and the forced team-building retreats, he’d lost something important: his sense of humor.
Determined to bring it back—and to help others do the same—he created this site as an antidote to the seriousness that so often drains the life out of work. Today, Jensen is on a mission to prove that you can be professional without being painfully dull, and that a well-timed joke is sometimes the best tool you have for staying sane.
When he’s not dreaming up new ways to make office life more entertaining, you’ll probably find him enjoying strong coffee, dodging corporate buzzwords, and plotting his next escape from the tyranny of PowerPoint.
He hopes this corner of the internet reminds you that while work may be serious, you don’t always have to be and A Brick At A Time is a way for corporate types and business people (and even students) everywhere to be reminded that laughing together is powerful tool — and would you believe it – good for the bottom line.
